We May Be Able To Restore Your Liner With The Revolutionary HeatShield® Product

If your clay tile chimney liner is deteriorating, cracking, or crumbling, you may not need to completely reline. Our technicians are certified HeatShield® installers, and may be able to completely restore your liner using this revolutionary product. This can be great news for homeowners who want to enjoy their chimney system once more, without paying for a completely new chimney liner.

What Is HeatShield®?

HeatShield® is a cerfractory sealant mixture that is designed to repair tile liners and withstand the intense temperatures and corrosive byproducts of fire. If you think your clay tile liner may need a little TLC, give Top Notch Chimney Sweep & Services a call. We’ll evaluate your system and let you know whether or not HeatShield® is a good option for you.

How Does HeatShield® Work To Restore?

There are a few different methods of application, and the method we use will depend on the condition of the liner we are repairing. The three HeatShield® methods are:

  • Joint Repair – This HeatShield® option is great for clay liners that simply have a few small cracks and gaps here and there. We’ll make a special foam applicator and use it to push the HeatShield® product into the cracks and smooth it over for a seamless surface.
  • Resurfacing – If your clay liner is showing signs of cracking and crumbling all over but is still structurally sound, the HeatShield® resurfacing option may be best for you. With this method, we’ll apply a prep coat, and then, using a custom-made foam applicator, we’ll cover the entire flue interior with HeatShield®, making sure that the surface is smooth and seamless.
  • Sleeve Relining – When your clay liner needs a little more help, we may opt to use the HeatShield® CeCure sleeve relining system. During this application, we’ll prep the flue, use our foam applicator to apply a layer of HeatShield® product, place a reinforced sleeve inside the liner, and then add another layer of HeatShield® inside the sleeve.

Regardless of the method of application, we’ll use our state-of-the-art video scanning equipment to take a look at the finished results and make sure that our work was effective and seamless.
